Police arrest drug trafficker in N Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A man from Aceh, identified as AR Daud (37), was arrested by North Jakarta Anti-Illicit Drug Police last Thursday for being in possession of 93 kg of hashish.

North Jakarta Police`s Anti-Illicit Drug Unit Chief Commissioner Suparmo said here on Monday that Daud was arrested after the police had received a tip-off from the public.

"Daud was arrested after we had earlier detained RA at Tugu Utara areas," he said.

RA was arrested while selling hashish and possessing one gram of methaphetamine crystal. RA told the police that he got the illicit drugs from AR Daud.

In addition to the 93 kg of hashish worth Rp223 million, the police also seized one gram of methaphetamine crystal from AR Daud.Daud admitted that he had earlier sold 93 kg and 140 kg of hashish sent in two deliveries respectively from Aceh.

He sold the hashish for Rp2.4 million per kg and he got profit worth Rp500,000 for each kg hashish sold.
