Following the discovery of their luxurious jail cells, graft convict Artalyta Suryani and two others were transferred late on Thursday night from the Pondok Bambu prison in East Jakarta to the women’s jail in Tangerang, Banten.
The move was based on an order issued by the Justice and Human Rights Ministry, according to Pondok Bambu’s new director, Catur Budi Fatayatin. No reason was given for the move.
Also transferred along with Artalyta were convicted drug dealer Limarita, aka Aling and graft convict Darmawati, who were also said to have enjoyed special privileges in Pondok Bambu.
