A man died after falling from the parking area on the fourth floor of a shopping mall in Solo, Central Java, on Monday.
Agus Sunarto, 32, died after he fell from the parking area at Solo Grand Mall at 2 p.m. The incident shocked mall patrons, however the chronology of the incident is still unclear.
Agus’ friend, Ibnu Setiyo, who accompanied Agus and his wife, Ida, to the mall, told Metro TV that Agus was there to buy school supplies for his child. After shopping, they walked to the parking area on the fourth floor.
However, Agus asked Ibnu and Ida to go wait for him in the car because he wanted to finish his drink. According to Ibnu, Agus was drinking a bottled ice tea.
Ida started to worry when her husband did not show up and went to look for him. Some time later, she came running to the car and told Ibnu that Agus had fallen.
They went downstairs and found Agus’s body.
“He was normal, there was nothing unusual about him. He did not seem to have any problems with his wife either,” Ibnu told Metro TV.
Solo Police are still investigating whether the death was the result of an accident or a suicide. Police processed the crime scene and took the body to the hospital for an autopsy. Ibnu and Ida were taken to the police station for questioning.
