This is one of the appreciable movement. As a scientist in the field of vector control for the past three decades in India and abroad I wish to state the following for the benefit of Jakartha citizens.
1. Every individual above 10 years must be taught dengue vectors source reduction by adopting practical hand in hand training.
2. A special squad must follow up dengue affected houses for a lomg period. With the assistance of affected family members create severe alertness to work along with organized govt. sectors.
3. Dengue prevention is not one time affair. The involvement must be continuous for many years without break to reduce cases drastically.
4. People must come forward to work voluntarily. For that purpose, Govt. should develop incentives to make them to work for the real cause.
5. If possible, introduce in every educational institution, a compulsory dengue prevention movement in a more organized set up. Initially start at small scale to implemement effectively.
suggestions are welcome,
With kind regards,
Dr. T.
