Mother of two dies suspectedly of birdflu

Tangerang (ANTARA News) - A resident of Tangerang in Banten province was believed to have died of birdflu after being treated in a hospital in Jakarta.

Et (30), a mother of two, died at around 12.30 p.m at Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta on Saturday.

Her husband, Zaidi, said she was first treated at Insani Hospital in Tangerang after suffering from a high fever, breathing problems and a cough on Friday, but as her condition worsened she was taken to Persahatan Hospital.

Et`s younger brother Syamsuddin said before her body temperature climbed, 10 chickens of his neighbour died suddenly.

The head of the Tangerang health service, Lili Indrawati, admitted that a resident of Tangerang had suspectedly died of birdflu but refused to elaborate, as the details will be announced on Monday.
