Narcotics Police in N. Sumatra Bust One of Their Own for Pushing Pills

division in North Sumatra was arrested on Thursday for selling ecstasy.

The narcotics division chief of the Serdang Bedagai police in North Sumatra was arrested on Thursday for selling ecstasy.

North Sumatra Police narcotics division director Sr. Comr. Andjar Dewanto said on Thursday that First Adj. Insp. Antonius Situmorang had been named a suspect for drug trafficking, according to okezone.com.

The police caught Antonius when he tried to sell the pills to an undercover officer. The transaction turned violent, and Antonius ended up with a bullet in his left hand.

Two of Antonius' cohorts, also crooked cops, ran away and managed to escape arrest, okezone.com reported.

Antonius is now under care at Bhayangkara Hospital in Medan, North Sumatra.
