Forty-five
out of 560 tea drinks tested by Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
have been found with excessive levels of pesticide residue, the FDA said
Saturday.
All the
problematic drinks must be pulled off shelves, the FDA said.
The FDA
began to sample tea drinks for tests after several tea drink chains were
discovered recently to be selling pesticide-tainted tea drinks, triggering
public concerns.
So far, the
FDA has sampled 831 tea drinks, and tests have been completed on 560 of the
samples.
