Dutch showman makes global headlines with ‘I’m 49 not 69’ court case

Dutch showman and self-styled ‘motivational guru’ Emile Ratelband has hit headlines around the world with a court case to have his age officially cut by 20 years. 

Ratelband was in court in Arnhem earlier this week in a bid to have the clock turned back on his official documents so that he is only 49. 

‘We live in a time when you can change your name and change your gender. Why can’t I decide my own age?’ Ratelband is quoted as saying. In particular, Ratelband, hopes being officially younger will enable him to attract more women.

‘When I’m on Tinder and it says I’m 69, I don’t get an answer. When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position,’ he said. Ratelband has been married twice and has seven children. 

The BBC, Daily Mail and Telegraph are among the foreign media outlets which have picked up the story, which has generated thousands of comments. 

Ratelband, who converted to Buddhism earlier this year, told the Telegraaf that he is not suffering from the Peter Pan syndrome and has been checked out by a doctor to make sure he will ‘be able to deal with this major step.’ 

After all, he told the paper, there are some disadvantages to becoming younger. ‘For a start I’ll be missing out on my old age pension for 20 years,’ he said. 

Judges will rule on the case later this month. 

Ratelband has a history of outspoken comments and has described Osama bin Laden as a ‘freedom fighter with clear principles’. In 2003 he made an attempt to enter parliament on a populist platform. He received just under 10,000 votes.

Greetings, dear ones, I am Kryon of Magnetic Service. The pause that always follows the greeting is given for my partner to exit. You might have noticed that there is no seeming preparation for this channelling. In an older energy there would be, where the Human Being has to prepare his mind in such a way that the very structure and the psyche would have to be altered. If you had certain kinds of measurements on his brain, you would see the preparation working. You’d see the various alpha and beta waves change, but not now. The reason is because some time ago he gave permission for a meld that would mean a continuous connection, a closer walk that would make him a more compassionate Human Being. At the same time, there would be no preparation for channel. He would have one foot in and one foot out of 3D all the time. So when it came time for 100 percent, all he did was step back. But the stepping back is the most difficult thing he does. All of this has to do with the Human brain - what is involved with it that you know about and what you don’t know about and what is evolving for you to now know about.

The channel tonight is informative and deals with things we have not discussed before in this way. I will be bringing a new concept forward, but it won’t be complex because it’s just an introduction. However, it's an introduction to a concept of an evolving humanism.

New is Often Controversial

You are moving forward into a new energy that is going to change the very fabric of your consciousness. I want to explain things that I have never explained before and some of this will be controversial. Let me comment on this: You believe a certain way because you have learned a certain way. Once you have cognized something [committed belief to it], it actually belongs to you. So what we are saying is that you have a "groove" you have been thinking within for a long time. It's no wonder some of this may hit you the wrong way. But these things can be rewritten if you re-cognize them by choice. So I say to you this: DO NOT take what follows and run with it simply because I said it in channel. I want you to discern this with your own mind and measure it for yourself for viability and common sense. Make it real. Could it be that things are now different than your original training? Did the energy change? If so, is it possible that spiritual awareness has opened more areas of discovery? If you can think out of your "learned box", it may start to actually validate some of the things that you have seen lately. What you originally learned really hasn't changed. It just got bigger and looks different.

The Human Mind is Complex

The Human mind is complex. If you had to compartmentalize it and take a look at the different kinds of thinking that Humans do, it would get even more complex. It has been studied for years, but in a 3D way, the best that you have been able to do is to look at the Human mind as a succinct operation of synapse that allows survival. According to your science, the brain gives you everything. It gives you survival, it gives you intuition and mental acuity, it gives you all of your coordinated body functions – everything. You might say that it drives the boat of life.

In addition, when you started studying it more, you discovered that the right and the left lobes do different things and are connected differently between men and women. Everything you studied pointed to the brain being the controller. That was the center of consciousness and all things Human.

The Real Brain Scenario

The concept we bring you this evening is that there is no single brain within the Human Being. Instead, there are three. In order for you to see this clearly in the brief time that we’re together, I’m going to give you the best metaphoric illustration I can for what’s going on. Under the pretense that you don’t know what you don’t know, you’ve done your best. What else could you have done? All you have to look at is the brain! Therefore, the brain is all there is. Come with me and play with this metaphor. It’s the best I can do to explain something very special and new.

A Metaphoric Journey

You’re in a room, taking a look at a table. It’s a workstation, to the modern Human, and on the workstation there is a computer. Almost everyone listening and in this room will recognize the instrument, and many have operated it. Most of you know what it does. However, an ancient would have no idea. So in this example, and for this metaphoric allegory, we will pretend that we have an ancient [older one] from only 100 years ago, coming forward to the workstation and being amazed by what he sees.

In this story, you can't communicate with him, but you can show him the computer. So without explanation, without help, and without you being able to say anything, he sees and perceives the magic of what it can do. He can read the screen, and he can interface as he tries to figure out the mouse and the operation of the device. He starts pressing buttons, and he sees things – unbelievable things! This box does things that nobody back home will believe! The future is astonishing! He marvels at the immensity of it all. He discovers Google, but he has no idea of the concept. He sees the world at his fingertips, all in a box. It's heady to think of this power of information and action. There isn't anything it doesn't know! All of the languages of the world are in the box. Any piece of information that he ever wanted to know about anything is in the box! Anything! Then he discovers that you can type a message to just about anyone, anywhere! It's also a communication device!

This is amazing beyond belief, and he eventually walks away from the experience with a solid perception of what he has seen with his own eyes! When he returns in his time machine, he can hardly wait to tell his generation of 100 years ago what he has seen – about technology and a box that does everything and communicates with everyone. It's like all the world's libraries together in a little box – all of the languages, all of the encyclopedias possible and any question you ever wanted to ask. It knows about all of the individuals known throughout history, with all the details – all that is, in the one box – and it's available to every Human Being. The perception, without any explanation, is a solid, logical one, but it's flawed.

The Hidden Connection

You know better, don’t you? You see, you know that the "box" is connected to the Internet. If you disconnect the computer from the ’net, it's simply a computational device. It computes. Oh, you may be able to write a letter on it, or you may be able to do a spreadsheet on it, but you can’t ask it anything, because it’s not connected!

What the ancient did not understand, nor could he even begin to conceive of, was the World Wide Web. He didn’t see the tiny cord that was plugged into the base of the computer, which gave it the magic ability to know everything about everything about everything. Even if he had seen the cord, it would be meaningless to his perception. To him, the box did it all. He had seen it!

Now, let me bring you back to the brain. All you had to examine all these years, as Humans, is what you think is the awesome, magic brain. You don’t know about the brain's connection to a multidimensional Internet, which is within the body. How could you?

The Human Brain

Your brain is a large and wonderful chemical, synaptic computer. Let me define this more: Synapse, as we speak of it, is the active process of electromagnetic signals going through neural matrix pathways [structured nerve pathways and bundles] within the brain. It happens from many junction areas [places] to others at lightning speed. It gives you the ability to control your survival, your body and your thoughts in 3D.

Expansive thinking, as you understand it, is brain related. You’ve looked at the brain and you’ve said, "This is the creative area. It's responsible for music, artwork, poetry, sculpture and the intellect."

You never saw the wire, did you?

The brain has nothing to do with creating those things. Instead, it facilitates them! It facilitates them, but it isn't responsible for them. Much like the box in the metaphoric room is the control station for the ’net, your brain is the control station for much, much more. These things simply look like they are coming from the box, which is your brain. But they are not.

Much of what you consider creative and/or spiritual, including channelling, is coming from the pineal connection. This includes your intuitive part, which is growing with your spiritual evolution. This is the part of your consciousness that is connected to that which you call the Higher-Self. You can call it what you want, but it's the connection from the creative source to the brain. It's there, and some use it well. Some do not. It opens wide only through free choice, and the ones who are creating incredible things are connected to the ’net – the pineal. However, you see it as happening within the brain.

The invisible wire that you cannot see, the overlay that you do not recognize within the brain, is the connection to the outside that many of you are beginning to understand and feel. The brain facilitates these attributes, but it does not create them. Intuition does not come from the brain, but it’s facilitated by the brain. The brain then activates it into what you call thought. You might see it on the graphs of thermography along with all of the things you think are synapses going on in the brain, but the brain is simply processing what it is receiving from somewhere else.

If you unplug the wire to the ’net, all the brain can do for you is to keep you breathing and give you basic survival thinking. You can run from the Bengal tiger so you won’t be eaten. You can grow your food, have children, and learn how to drive a car, but it won’t write music and it won’t create sculpture. It doesn’t naturally think of God! It does not analyze itself. But when it’s plugged in, it does all that.

The Three Parts - More to Consider Than You Think

There are three parts to the brain of the Human Being, but you are only aware of two of them. We’re going to give you the third part tonight. The second brain of the Human Being, which is processed by the synaptical part (the brain box), is the pineal. This is responsible for creative thinking, intuition and intellectual awareness. Intuition is starting to grow with humanity, and it comes from that which is your innate inside the body. It's getting smarter and is passing more to your brain to process at a greater frequency and strength as you evolve. It also is starting to give you Akashic information (past-life remembrances). You might say your pineal ’net is getting faster, and your brain is processing it. You are feeling that you are becoming more intuitively aware of things.

The bridge between Human consciousness and the smart body, the innate, is starting to mature and grow up. You are getting out of pure survival mode and many are starting to awaken to a greater truth. This is all being enhanced in the Human Being to a point where Humans will think, "The brain is doing better!" It isn’t. The brain remains the brain and will process a better intuition from the pineal. The brain remains a stellar survival organ, but intuition is going to get stronger and stronger. Again, your spiritual Internet is getting faster.

In this very 3D energy, you only see the one organ that you feel is responsible for everything you do, but there are actually three. The evolved Human Being has the potential to create light [awareness energy]. I just gave you something we can study later – information that is new. There’s a perception of spirituality being white light. It’s everywhere. You’ve seen it everywhere. There is the story of Moses and the burning bush. This was a flame that did not consume itself, but if you could really see it in reality, it was a white light. For him, it was a higher consciousness than he had ever seen before, an angelic energy coming through his pineal, projecting to him.

When you have a near-death experience, you go to the light. This is more than metaphoric. You start to create something we will call divinity and mastery. White light coming from you is the higher consciousness you. The more your DNA efficiency is increased, the whiter the light gets. This is a metaphor, but there is truth often behind all mythology, and this is one of those. Dear ones, you are becoming more angelic when you start to understand the third part.

The Third Brain

We have told you before that there is a mystery going on that involves the Human heart. The Human heart, dear ones, is the third part of the brain. Science has never understood why the heart has such a tremendous magnetic field. It is actually larger than any other organ, including the brain with all of its synaptic activity. The heart overshadows it in so many ways, yet examination of the heart in a corporeal way will give information that is seemingly very ordinary. The heart simply pumps blood in a specific rhythm as sent by signals from the brain. Yet there is far more.

When we started, we gave you instructions to connect the dots, and here is your chance. When a spinal cord is severed in an accident, the heart continues pumping. Brain signals that supposedly control timing and rhythm are disconnected. The signals are gone, yet the heart keeps pumping. Not only that, but digestion continues, liver function continues, pancreas and others continue, even reproduction continues! All without the brain.

There is a third element of consciousness that is centered within the Human heart. You have identified the heart metaphorically as the symbol of love, and you’re right. These three parts to Human consciousness go way beyond the brain as an organ. It’s the trilogy of survival. It’s also represented by the three energy [in numerology] that you see everywhere in spiritual history. It's the three horses that pulled the ascension chariot, the Merkabah of Elijah. It's the trilogy Godhead of many churches [Father, Son, Holy Spirit]. In your body, it's the pineal [creator intuition], the brain [survival] and the heart [compassion].

The masters of this planet had all three working well, but in an older energy, you have not. In an older energy, you were only in survival mode. What is happening is that you are evolving, and the innate of the body is getting stronger. DNA is starting to become more efficient, and these parts are starting to finally connect. Dear ones, what separates a Human Being in survival from a master is intuitive compassion. Compassion is generated from the heart and it’s not a metaphor. It is part of the heart-brain.

There are things going on in this trilogy that you should understand. Connect the dots and start using science to find out and recognize that there are things that are not visible in any spectrum you can yet measure. But simply because you are blind to it at the moment doesn't mean it's not happening. You simply have not discovered everything yet, but the advancement in multidimensional physics will help. Listen, as new physics inventions come to you, you must involve biology, too! Don't separate the two sciences [as they are now]. You will have a far better idea of the truth of all of this when you can quantum-map emotion, thinking and Human behavior. It will show itself immediately.

The brain is responsible for facilitating [coordinating] all three of these parts, but be aware that the other two are doing a great deal of the work. Intuition and compassion will always seem to come directly from the brain, just like to the ancient when the magic came from the box. Connect yourself to a bigger picture, dear ones. The triad of Human consciousness is the beginning of the realization of mastery.

That’s all we want to tell you now. It's something for you to digest into your logic and spirituality, is it not? Think about it and ask your own intuition, "Is it true. Could it be that the Human brain is only a facilitator for something bigger?" This information starts to explain some measurements you never could explain before with conventional biological beliefs. It starts to explain why it is when a Human Being makes certain kinds of decisions, suddenly the brain seems to control the body better. Why is it that corporeal health can suddenly change, heal itself, ask for other kinds of foods, and have biological wisdom? What causes spontaneous remission? Dear ones, unless you were connected, you wouldn’t have any of this. Think: It isn't the brain that gave any of that to you. It was the brain that simply facilitated the connection from that little wire – the Creative Source, the white light.

There have been metaphors given tonight and things for you to examine, which also mean other things. It is the way that we begin the teaching of profound things. We will do it again and again, then elaborate on and on, and talk endlessly about it – all so that you will get it. It’s time you knew the grander picture of the triad, the trilogy of creation inside the Human Being.

Psychiatry and Buddhism trending as China seeks inner peace

China has seen a surge in the number of people seeking inner peace, leading to soaring demand for psychiatrists and reviving interest in Buddhism, according to Guangzhou's Southern Weekly.

After three decades of rapid economic growth that have made China the world's second-largest economy, happiness has now become a popular topic, the paper said.

"No matter what, Chinese people do not live happily," said Xiao Zeping, the superintendent of the Shanghai Mental Health Center, at an annual applied psychology conference held in Guangzhou in March.

Li Yan, the head of the psychiatry and sleeping disorder department at Guangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said the number of visits made by patients to the department rose from 7,000 in 2005 to 50,000 last year.

"The incidences of depression, anxiety disorder and schizophrenia in China are higher than the global average," she said.

This has led to the rapid growth of the self-help industry in China. Psychology information website Xinli001 has seen its number of registered users grow to 9.31 million since being launched four years ago.

Urbanization is blamed for people's unhappiness, with Wuhan University professor Huang Yongming arguing in a study that pollution and food safety issues are the main sources of people's misery.

Oxford University clinical psychology professor Mark Williams also said that Chinese people desperately want to find a way to maintain inner peace at a time of rapid change and regular anxiety.

Buddhism has become the top choice for most people, the newspaper said, citing government data that showed the number of Buddhist venues growing from 13,000 in 1997 to 33,000 in 2013.

Chinese people have also become interested in meditation, the newspaper said.

Over 100 temples across China hold meditation camps every year, and a group of executives including Huayi Brothers chair Wang Zhongjun and Tsingtao Brewery chair Jin Zhiguo, who went to business school together, traveled to Taiwan to practice meditation at the Fo Guang Shan monastery in May 2014.

Gong Jun, a professor at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, said the number of applicants to the Institute of Comparative Religious Studies has also increased in recent years.

When China's president, Xi Jinping, said in February that people having spiritual beliefs will give better hope for the nation and strength to the country, it was also interpreted by religious groups as progress.

Wang Zuoan, head of China's State Administration of Religious Affairs, also urged media outlets in February not to avoid religious issues, which were deemed sensitive in the past, because religion has been recognized as a force that helps build a peaceful society.

'I crossed over': Survivors of near-death experiences share 'afterlife' stories

For many, the question of what happens when we die is a mysterious one — a recent TODAY survey found that 55 percent of people are absolutely certain there is an afterlife, 37 percent are not certain, and 8 percent are certain there isn't an afterlife.

But for some who have been through near-death experiences, the question has a clear answer.

Take public speaker Anita Moorjani, who shared her story with Maria Shriver on TODAY.

“I believe that I died, yes — that I crossed over into the afterlife and back,” said Moorjani, adding that the afterlife is “like being in a really unlimited space and time.”

Diagnosed with lymphoma in 2002, Moorjani — who considers herself more spiritual than religious — was losing her cancer battle, withering down to just 85 pounds and battling tumors from the base of her skull to her abdomen. She slipped into a coma in February 2006.

She says that’s when she died and crossed over to an afterlife.

“I felt as though I was above my body,” she said. “It was like I had 360-degree peripheral vision of the whole area around. But not just in the room where my body was in, but beyond the room.”

According to Moorjani, who now shares her near-death experience with international audiences, she was reunited in that state with her late father, who told her to turn back.

“He said that I've gone as far as I can, and if I go any further, I won't be able to turn back,” she said. “But I felt I didn't want to turn back, because it was so beautiful. It was just incredible, because, for the first time, all the pain had gone. All the discomfort had gone. All the fear was gone. I just felt so incredible. And I felt as though I was enveloped in this feeling of just love. Unconditional love.”

Citing an “incredible clarity where everything started to make sense,” she said she decided to return to her body because she believed “it would heal very, very quickly.” It did.

“Within four days, my tumors shrunk by 70 percent, and the doctors were shocked,” she said. “And I kept telling everyone that, ‘I know I'm going to be okay. I know it’s not my time to die.’”

Moorjani isn’t alone in connecting a "crossing over" experience to healing.

Diagnosed at age 4 with a chronic digestive disorder, 8-year-old Annabel Beam experienced intense pain and frequent hospital visits. “She was always so sweet and gracious,” her father, Kevin, told TODAY. “She wasn't making a big deal out of it, and she was suffering in silence.”

But the suffering started to overwhelm Annabel.

“I told my mom, ‘Mama, I want to die, and go to heaven with Jesus where there is no more pain. I don't want to be in this much pain for the rest of my life,’” she said. “And so I was so committed to just giving up that sometimes whenever I couldn't sleep I'd kinda try and figure out what would happen if I did die. Then I decided, my mom would come with me. My dad would stay and watch my sisters.”

Annabel’s mother, Christy, refused to believe what she’d heard. “I remember thinking, ‘That's not what she said,’” Christy recalled. “She doesn't know anything about giving up. She's a fighter.”

Days later, Annabel said she fell 30 feet from a tree branch that cracked while she was sitting on it with her sister, Abbie. She claims that after bumping her head three times on the way down and falling into the hollowed-out base of the tree, she died and went to heaven.

“It was really bright, and I sat on Jesus’ lap and he told me, ‘Whenever the firefighters get you out, there will be nothing wrong with you,’” Annabel recalled. “And I asked him if I could stay and he said, ‘No, I have plans you need to fulfill on Earth that you cannot fulfill in heaven.’”

A few days later, she told her family about her experience.

“She was very matter-of-fact: very ‘This is what happened,’ not at all animated, just, ‘Here are the facts,’” Christy said. “And then she stopped talking, and looked out the window for the rest of the trip.”

Now symptom-free, Annabel has gone from taking 10 daily medications to none.

“She fell 30 feet head first, without any injuries or one bug bite,” her mom said. “She came out of that tree hours later wet, muddy, and with scratches. And she’s well.”

The tree, which recently toppled due to weather, remains in the Beam family front yard, beside a cross Kevin carved after the accident.

“I’m glad that I didn’t ever try and cut it down,” he said. “I do think that this tree was actively involved in a miracle.”

His wife — who turned Annabel’s story into the book “Miracles from Heaven” — agreed. “It had a purpose,” Christy said. “It was a vessel.”

Annabel, who continues to climb trees, feels fortunate. “Most kids aren’t ever healed,” she said. “And so anytime I see [the tree], I'm just grateful, and happy.”

"... Some of you will walk into the forest and you'll feel it. It surrounds you with its love and beauty. Gaia speaks to you. The trees are pushing out oxygen with a benevolent system of photosynthesis. The plants give you oxygen and you give them carbon dioxide. What a system! Look around. Science will say that system happened by accident - a random occurrence. Do you believe that? What a beautiful system! The trees themselves know who you are. You walk into the forest and you feel it hug you, but perhaps another is next to you who came with a chainsaw. They don't care and they don't feel it. To them, the forest is only a resource. What's the difference between the two of you? There's no judgment here, I'm just asking you. What do you think the difference is? The answer: You're letting multidimensional awareness in and they are not. You see, you are becoming more aware of multidimensional soul communication. In this case, it's your enormous soul energy communicating with the other parts of the planet who are also multidimensional.

When you make the decision that it's OK to feel this energy, it will be there. Most of humanity so far has not made that decision. They block it. The law is this - this communication will come to you only with your allowance. The moment you open the door of allowance, you may begin to feel it. Those are our rules.

It's not just allowance for communication from the creative source, but also from an amazing number of what we would call other benevolent energies. These others are represented by groups with names that you have given them. They also cannot get through to you unless you allow it. That's their rule as well. Your names for them are Pleiadians, Arcturians, Sirians, Hathors or those from Orion. There are many more, but unless you open to the possibility of them, they can't communicate either.

Most of humanity will stand next to you as you communicate and think you're not well. That's the way it looks to them. Listen, dear ones, the benevolent groups who represent your DNA essence [your seed biology] and who know who you are are many. "... Universal communication: When you walk into the forest and the trees talk to you, what is that about? Gaia speaks to you! What does that voice sound like? Am I getting through to you? Do you understand what I'm saying?

You are able to hear these things in your own way, but none of them are synaptic. Are the trees in trouble? Are they crying? Perhaps they are celebrating? All of this information is available to those who can hear it.

"Kryon, is it true that in the forest there are what you would call devas?" Here's my answer: Are you kidding? Of course! Yes! You are asking what they are. They are multidimensional aspects of Gaia. I love how Humans deal with multidimensional energies. They "3D-ize" them. When Human Beings cannot understand a multidimensional energy, they make them entities, dress them [put outfits on them in their minds], give them names, and put them in Human movies. They're beautiful! You know they are, and they're everywhere. Go into the forest and they'll talk to you. Sit down in the grass and let them communicate with you. They're part of the energy soup that is Gaia, which is Mother Nature, the personality that is the love of God in nature.

Dear one, you're not going to receive bad things from a deva. You're not going to get bad information from hugging a tree. You know that, don't you? What does this tell you about how Gaia feels about you? These are just a few things when it comes to the subject of communication from others to you. ..."

The Sharon Kelly Story: How She Beat Her Lung Cancer with Cannabis Oil

This is the story of 54 year old Sharon Kelly, a wife and mother who was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in December 2013. She was given no chance of survival and told she would only have months to live. Luckily the decisions she would make would prove her "doctors" wrong.

On Monday, December 16th, 2013 Sharon started complaining of a small pain on her left side around her ribs. She had gotten a massage on the previous Friday so she thought that must be a side effect of the massage. As the days went on the pain increased and when Sharon took a deep breath she started to have terrible pain in that same spot. So she decided to get checked out and on December 19th, 2013 Sharon Kelly was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer.

By the middle of January 2014 the diagnosis had gotten worse.  The Doctors told Sharon the cancer had spread to the lining of her lung & lymph nodes and they classified it as stage IV Terminal Lung Cancer. She was given only 6-9 months to live. She asked if anything could be done like an operation or radiation but she was coldly told  "the horse had bolted and was way too late to do anything". They told Sharon they do not offer radiation treatment for stage 4 lung cancer. Sharon was even told that chemo was "not really worth doing" as it would only make her more sick. The doctors were more concerned with her enjoying the "short time" she had left than actually trying to help her live. They had given up on her upon their diagnosis and it was obvious to Sharon they didn't seem to want to treat her.

Sharon had a 5cm primary tumor in her left lung (pictured in the CT scan to the left). She had a number of lymph nodes in her chest that were cancerous as well as a lymph node in the base of her neck that was inflamed with cancer. She had considerable fluid around her heart which they said was cancer in the plura lining of the left lung. Sharon knew NOTHING

about cannabis oil at this point. By the end of January the doctors had still yet to start any treatment for Sharon. They were still trying to get a biopsy of the primary tumor to test Sharon for EGFR mutation. Sharon demanded they do something, so they finally agreed to start chemo, almost 2 months after being diagnosed.

Sharon suffered through 2 rounds of chemo from the end of January to the beginning of February before she tested positive to the EGFR mutation. This meant she would no longer be treated with the first chemo she was given, but would be put on a chemo tablet called Tarceva. Sharon was told that the Tarceva could only slow down the spread of the cancer. They told her that there had been some cases of the Tarceva shrinking cancer, but not many, and that it only works for a short time. Over time the cancer would come back, but probably much worse. The Tarceva was only given to  help extend her life. Sharon was given no hope of surviving and was sent home by her "doctors" to die.

With no hope or any options left Sharon's youngest daughter turned to the internet in hope of finding some answers. After seeing some of the testimonials from people who have had success with cannabis oil, like Stan Rutner who beat his lung cancer with cannabis oil, Sharon's daughter called her mother and suggested she try cannabis oil since there was nothing else left. Luckily Sharon was open minded to the cannabis oil treatment and agreed to give it a try. What did she have to lose?

Sharon started her cannabis oil treatment on February 26, 2014. Her husband Neville made her first batch of oil for her. You can learn to make cannabis oil for yourself on our "Make the Oil" page. Sharon started her cannabis oil doses small but still struggled with tiredness she got from it. She was taking about a rice grain under the tongue every 3 hrs with a bigger one before bed. Along with the cannabis oil Sharon started to juice fresh cannabis leaves and bud every morning and added that to her "super smoothie".

By May of 2014 Sharon had learned about cannabis oil suppositories. Sharon was still having trouble with the oil causing her to become tired when she took it orally. She found that by taking cannabis oil as a suppository it did not give her the tired feeling it gave her when she took the oil orally under her tongue. Using suppositories she was finally able to take the full 1 gram of oil per day that is recommended for aggressive cancers. She settled on suppositories being the best application for her. To make her suppository she would mix her cannabis oil with organic Coconut Oil. She would mix ½ cannabis oil and ½ coconut oil putting it in a syringe and administering it as the “up and in” method which Sharon calls it. Sharon was eventually able to take 1½ to 2 grams of cannabis oil as a suppository spaced out evenly throughout her day. She took a bigger than dose under the tongue before bed which would guaranteed her a good night’s sleep.

Another very important step Sharon took in killing her cancer was starting on a good alkalizing diet. She ate next to no red meat, no dairy, no bread or grains, no sugar, no processed foods, no artificial sweeteners.   She would eat a slice of organic mango 3 times a week. She had read that it helped clean your CBD receptors. She would also have a "super smoothie" each morning. Her daily smoothie would include a variety of kale, celery, squash, carrots, a whole beetroot, lots of fresh greens, ½ an orange, ½ a granny smith apple, asparagus, fresh ginger root and 1 tbsp fresh turmeric root.  She also added these to her diet: Bio Pure Whey Protein, Spirulin,a Cacao Powder, Chia, Hemp Protein, Hemp Oil, Teas (Tulsi, Licorice, Green, Gotu, Nettle), Pomegranate Juice, Grape juice, Cinnamon, Organic frozen mixed berries, Ground flaxseed (linseed), lypo-spheric Vit C 3 times a day, also oxygen drops in her filtered water several times a day all the while keeping to a low carb diet. There are a lot of great places online to find recipes for an alkaline diet.  The Alkaline Sisters is a great place to start.

Sharon showed shrinkage of her tumors with each scan taken at 2 month intervals. By July the primary tumor was only 2.1cm, down from 5cm in December of 2013, and all the lymph nodes were now normal size. The fluid that was around her heart was gone and the plura in the lining of the lung as the doctors described it “seemed to be gone”. So what Sharon was doing seemed to be consistently working.

On September 3rd, 2014 Sharon had her second CT scan (picture below) and she would get her best new yet. Sharon's 2nd scan found that there were no active cancer cells in her body. Sharon was cancer free after only 7 months on the cannabis oil. Sharon's oncologist was bewildered with the results. The oncologist said this was new territory for her as she had never heard of  “Full Metabolic Response” on Tarceva, EVER. In the beginning Sharon did mention to the oncologist she was looking into medical cannabis. The oncologist was very cautious and told Sharon there were no studies done of cannabis use while on Tarceva and the cannabis could work against the Tarceva. Sharon believes the oncologist knows about the cannabis use because Sharon told the oncologist she would be "doing things herself at home", but it was never mentioned again.  The oncologist continued to say “she has never been here before” and that "there is no cure for lung cancer but Sharon is in the best place she could ever hope to be". They are now calling the primary tumor scar tissue. Sharon is now 100% CANCER FREE. Sharon's "doctors" cannot explain it.

It has now been 13 months since the diagnosis and Sharon is still here. Sharon gives God and cannabis oil the credit for her amazing recovery.  If she had listened to what her "doctors" told her, she would have gone home and waited to die. Instead Sharon and her husband took a chance on an alternative treatment and took her life into their own hands. If not for taking that chance Sharon would no longer be with us. Sharon will have another PET scan January 20th, 2015.  It will be amazing to see what the doctors have to say when she is still cancer free. Please check back for updates.

India's new government has launched a drive to promote the country's ancient therapies as it seeks to cash in on the multi-billion dollar global market for holistic medicine.

India claims to have natural remedies for everything from cancer to the common cold, but ministers say it has failed to capitalise on its traditions as the world has woken up to alternative medicine.

Hindu nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a teetotal vegetarian who practices yoga daily, has said he wants the world to make Ayurveda "a way of life" -- and in doing so expand India's share of the growing global market for holistic medicine.

Earlier this month he appointed India's first minister for Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and homeopathy -- known as the AAYUSH ministry -- and has also called for an international yoga day.

"Call it whatever -— Ayurvedic medicines or herbal medicines or traditional medicines –- the global market is estimated at about $100 billion today," former health minister Harsh Vardhan told a recent conference on Ayurveda in New Delhi.

"India's share in this is negligible because quality standards are not maintained to international specifications. The government has decided to address this lacuna."

Ayurvedic medicine -- which means the "science of life" in Sanskrit -- treats the physical and mental sources of illness through, for example, prescribing herbs in conjunction with yoga or massage.

Much of the knowledge has been passed on through the generations by word of mouth and predates written records, but two volumes of remedies and prescriptions have survived, called the Charaka Samhita and the Sushruta Samhita.

'High priority'

Critics say that Ayurvedic remedies have no proven curative properties for disease, and instead work as a placebo.

"It's like superstition -- it's in your head that it helps. But in real life, you need actual pharma drugs," said P.K. Goyal, a Delhi-based physician.

But Modi, who as a young man wandered the Himalayas on a spiritual quest, said Ayurvedic remedies should be seen as complementary to modern medicine.

"If a person adopts Ayurveda, he can protect himself against various infections," said the 64-year-old.

"(Formerly) health was a part of life. But today we have outsourced health... we consult one doctor and then the other."

In India, domestic companies such as Dabur, Emami and the Himalaya group have pioneered herbal products, combining ancient traditional medicine with cutting-edge technology to make pills, creams and oils.

Ayurvedic centres and clinics have also sprung up in Europe and the United States in recent years, and global chain The Body Shop has created its own range of Ayurvedic products.

On Tuesday the new AAYUSH minister, Shripad Yesso Naik, said he would make promoting Ayurveda a "high priority" as he began his newly-created role.

"We will do whatever it takes to make India a healthy India in the days ahead," he said, praising the preventive qualities of yoga and Ayurveda.

According to the World Health Organization, 65 percent of India's rural population uses Ayurvedic remedies, mostly due to poor access to modern health facilities.

Modi has vowed to provide affordable healthcare to India, where nearly 25 percent of the population lives on less than $1.25 a day and more than 40 million people have been pushed into poverty because of the cost of medical treatment.

His Hindu nationalist government, which swept to power in May on a promise to revive India's flagging economy, has already announced plans to establish a state-funded Ayurvedic research centre and hospital.

And many are already converted to the drive. One fan at the conference -- where everything from massage chairs to digestion and blood pressure pills were on display -- needed no further persuading.

"It's natural, so no side effects, and it's cheap," said 20-year-old Delhi student Ashima Beri.

"Honestly, these worked on my acne better than any other cream or drug."
