Jonggol, Bogor (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono inaugurated the second phase construction of 100,000 healthy and modest houses (RSH) at Citra Indah housing area in Jonggol, West Java, on Thursday.
Present on the occasion were among others State Minister for Public Housing M Yusuf Ashari, Manpower and Transmigration Minister Erman Suparno, Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono, West Java Governor Danny Setiawan, and Indonesian Real Estate Developers Association (REI) chairman Lukman Purnomosidi.
It was the second phase after the first phase construction of 100,000 in Semarang, Central Java, which was also inaugurated by President Yudhoyono in March last year.
Accompanied by the First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, the head of state also witnessed the signing of several agreements (MoUs) among the Public Housing Ministry, the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry, and REI on the Acceleration of the Public Housing Development and Improvement of Workers` Welfare Program (P5KP).
In addition, the agreements on the development of houses for Indonesian Military (TNI) soldiers, police, civil servants, and TNI and National Police retirees were also signed on the occasion.
The development of RSH in the past three years continued to improve significantly following the construction of 78,000 units in 2005, 100,000 units in 2006, and 100,000 units this year.
