Police raids shabu factory in Tangerang

Tangerang (ANTARA News) - Jakarta metropolitan police raided a house in the Villa Regency housing complex, Kembang Raya, Pasar Kemis subdistrict, Tangerang regency, Benten, where methampetamine, locally called shabu, had also been produced.

"Actually the police had already been observing and monitoring the shabu factory in the past month, but D-day had been carried out today," Narcotics Director of the Metropolitan police Senior Commissioner Anjan Putra said here Friday.

He said the police arrested LLA alias LX (47), owner of the house, and workers SPY alias ST (33)and SST (37).

The police also seized 96,000 shabu pills which were about to be sent to the market and dozens of bottles containing liquid shabu ready for processing.

Every day LX, who had started production four months ago, can produce 1,000 grams of shabu, and his sales had reached Rp 10.8 billion.

The police said LX is actually an invalid, with a paralyzed left hand, and used an artificial arm to do his job.

LX`s neighbors was rather shocked when the police raided the house, because the man was known to be a kind person.

LX was known to often tell his neighbors that he worked at a chemical plant somewhere in Pasar Kemis, Tangerang, and always brought home some chemicals.

The police is still guarding the 3-floor house, and erected a police line around it.
