Sabang, Aceh (ANTARA News) - A German tourist named Andreas Frank Lange (48) was found dead in a room of a bungalow in the Iboh holiday resort in Sabang on Tuesday.
Police and immigration officers were still collecting more information on the circumstances of Lange`s death, Helmi Ali, head of Sabang city`s tourism office, said.
Lange`s lifeless body was found in a sitting position by a fellow tourist at 16.00 west Indonesian Time and the happening was then reported to local authorities.
After Lange`s death was reported to the police, his body was taken to the Iboih community health center. "Until now, an investigation is still underway to establish the causes of his death," Helmi said.
The Sabang tourism office was also trying to contact the German embassy in Jakarta to inform it of Lange`s death and discuss what needed to be done with his body, whether it would be buried locally or taken care of by the embassy or his next of kin.
Lange who was born on June 23, 1962 had been in the Iboih holiday resort since a week ago.
His body is until now kept at the Iboih community health center, about 28 kilometers from the center of Sabang city. It would be transferred to Banda Aceh on Wednesday (Jan 13) via Sabang`s Balohan port.
