Cerebral Palsy Patients Receive Wheel Chairs

TEMPO Interactive, Yogyakarta: As many as 252 children suffering from cerebral palsy will be getting WHO-standardized wheel chairs which will be distributed as of December 1 through the Public Health Insurance program, said Risnawati Utami, wheel chair procurement project coordinator in the Indonesian branch of the United Cerebral Palsy organization.

The target of the three-year program valued at US$ 1,6 million is to supply 5.500 wheel chairs in Java, Risnawati added. “We will also organize training for 11 physical therapists and occupation therapists in some of the regions," said Jamie Noon, writer of the wheel chair guideline.
